Fue un pintor sencillo y apegado al verdadero pueblo. Su pasión  fue la pintura y el pueblo del cual nunca se apartó. El artista plástico es considerado uno de los más importantes del panorama pictórico mexicano del siglo XX, fue un impulsor del rescate de importantes monumentos históricos, dejó un importante legado cultural. Protagonizó una huelga de hambre, rescató el templo y ex convento Dominico.

He was a simple painter and attached to the true people. His passion was painting and the people from which he never departed. The plastic artist is considered one of the most important of the Mexican pictorial scene of the 20th century, he was a promoter of the rescue of important historical monuments, he left an important cultural legacy. He staged a hunger strike, rescued the Dominican temple and former convent.
